HEART WREATH

A Great Craft Project and Lesson Idea for Valentine's Day!

Supplies
Each crafter will need, the heart pattern, red and pink foam fabric, (or poster paper for indoors), wreath base such as a Styrofoam ring, or a 9" Styrofoam paper plate with the center cut out, red ribbon (24" x 1/8th" thick), pink or red pipe cleaner, double stick tape, glue, scissors, hole punch.

Directions
Cut out the heart pattern. Place double stick tape on the back of pattern and place on foam fabric.  Cut 5 red hearts and 5 pink hearts for the Styrofoam plate. Punch a hole at the top of the plate and one at the bottom of the plate. The top hole is for the pipe cleaner to use as the wreath hanger, the bottom hole will be to string your red ribbon for the dangling hearts. Glue or hot glue, the foam hearts onto the wreath base in an overlapping pattern. It will take 8 hearts to cover the plate. Let dry. The 2 remaining hearts will dangle from the wreath. Write, "Let us love One Another" (John 13:34) on the first dangling heart, and, "God Is Love" (1 John 4:7-8), on the second dangling heart. Punch a hole at the top of both dangling hearts. String the ribbon through the hole at the bottom of the plate. Have the ribbon hang uneven and tie the 2 remaining hearts to each end.

Object Lesson
People love many things. We love our parents, our dogs, our cats, and chocolate candy! The Bible tells us that God is LOVE. He loves us completely. It is impossible for us to love GOD, or anyone else for that matter, the way that God loves us.

God sent his SON to die for us so that we can love GOD with pure hearts. God helps us to love him and others the right way. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16.
