Gospel Fingernails

Show Your Good News Colors! | by Emmalea Butler

You will need: Nail polish in the following colors: black, red, white, green, gold, and clear.

What you do: Have kids look up scripture for each gospel color as their fingernails or toenails are painted.

Start with the thumb and paint it BLACK for sin (to indicate their self as a sinner--Romans 3:23)

Next, paint the index finger RED for the blood of Jesus (they can point to heaven and Jesus--Romans 5:8-9)

The rest of the fingers are painted in progression:

WHITE for the pure heart we receive when we ask for Christ's forgiveness (Psalm 51:1-2).

GREEN for growing in spiritual wisdom as we wait for our reward (Colossians 1:10).

GOLD, representing HEAVEN (John 3:16).

Gospel Nails

Topcoat each fingernail with CLEAR polish to protect the polish. Likewise, this represents the invisible Holy Spirit who indwells each believer--protecting, guiding, and encouraging us to grow to be more like Jesus (John 10:7-13).

After the fingernails are dry, tuck in the thumb and cover it with all the other fingers (make a fist). This shows that the saved person's sin is covered by the work of Jesus; they are SAFE in the hand of GOD throughout Eternity!
