1) Christmas Presentation?

Hello, Sisters!

I would really like to come up with something for my third through fifth
grade class to present during the Christmas season in the adult service.
An entire play would be too much, and there is not a children's choir, but
I could probably teach a song with motions or something.  Also, a simple
(short) drama might work, especially since several of the kids are
extremely gifted in acting.

I have a very dedicated group of about 5-6 children, and there are 5-6
others who come once or twice each month.

Do any of you have any ideas?  Also, any websites that have examples or
ideas are welcome.

Every blessing,
Caroline

2) Christmas Eve program?

Hi,
I am looking for something for my 3 little ones to do for our Christmas
Eve program. Their ages are 10, 6 and 4.

I have 4 older youth girls that are doing the skit:  Mrs. Magi.  (GREAT
skit by the way!!)
I do have 2 other girls that love to sing, but they only come on occasion
to church.  I am not musically inclined, but I am going to have our piano
player get with them and work some music out.  So, I don't need the little
ones to sing.
If you have any ideas for my 3 little ones, please pass them on to me!!
I just don't know what to have them do for our Christmas Eve program.
Thanks,
God Bless,
Tari in Michigan

3) Parade Float?

Our youth group for the first time ever are going to participate in our
area Christmas Parade. I have been racking my brain on an idea for a
float. The them is "A Family Christmas." I want to glorify God with this
float but just do not know what to do. Does anyone have any ideas? You
can email me at spindledesign@webtv.net.

God bless
Nancy

--from SSTN: the "Holy Family" comes to mind. ;o)) A live Nativity would
be excellent for them. Check out, "Bethlehem Drive" in our skits section
to get some ideas:

4) Nursing Home Idea

A few years ago my mother found a huge box of small stuffed animals at a
yard sale.  She had them cleaned by placing them in a laundry bag made for
a washing machine (some can not be washed....so watch for those) then
dried....she replaced some of the ribbons and brushed them.  They looked
brand new....she then contacted the nursing home's recreation director who
in turn gave her the names of residents who could choose some of these
toys to give away to their grandchildren for Christmas....Many times these
elderly folk can not or do not have a way to shop for family...This makes
a way for them to feel like they can do something for their
families...DAR. AL

5) Food Devotions?

I am looking for ideas to do with 4, 5 and 6th graders in the kitchen
that have to do with creating food and relating it to scripture, Bible
stories, or an object lesson.  I know that I have an 11 year old boy and
he is starting to be interested in making meals or at least part of a
meal for his family.  I was looking for a treat, or baked good or
anything else that we can relate to Thanksgiving and then again one for
Christmas that the kids can take home and then make it again at home if
they want to.  Thanks for your help, Cindy

--from SSTN: check out the Yummy Devotions section in the crafts area at:
http://www.sundayschoolnetwork.com/page6.html
Also, there are some great books with this in mind. Check out:
"Food Fun Devotions" and "Incredible Edible Bible Fun".

They can be found in our bookstore by typing their titles into the search
box at: http://www.sundayschoolnetwork.com/bookstore.html

6) Seminar Topics

I am assuming that a Sunday school seminar is the same thing as a teacher
meeting.  Based on this assumption I have listed below topics I have
covered with my teachers.

Classroom discipline ideas; Creating a lesson plan, Dealing with ADD/
ADHD; Teaching using the Sandbox; Teaching using the Sandbox; Games,
Games, Games; Teaching with flannel boards; Technology tools (photocopier,
laminator, opaque projector, etc; – Teaching techniques (visual, auditory
and kinetic learners); Leading into Bible stories using object lessons;
Tips for time challenged teachers; Facilitation techniques; Storytelling
skills and using visual aids (books, postures, props, etc.)

I also have a Sunday school teacher training manual that I created for
training purposes.  If you would be interested in a free copy of this,
please e-mail me at scioart@yahoo.com.

Sincerely, Connie G.

7) VBS Feedback?

I am new in the position of Christian Education Minister here in
Savannah.  I would like to have some feedback on VBS programs.  We have
used Cokesbury and Group and I feel the emphasis has been on
entertainment.  Do you have any suggestions on anything else to try for
next year?  I am also looking for information on a week long Children's
Camp that our church sponsors.

If you have written any curriculum yourself, please email me and let's
talk.

8) Making God tangible

I appreciated your response and would like to add my own
to this.....when the child responded that he didn't believe
God could touch him - you could have said, "Well God has
asked me to show you how much He loves  you" and given
the boy a hug....and explain that everyone who has God living
inside them is to " love as He loves"......I've been in her situation
and am sometimes taken aback at satan's hold on even the
innocent youngsters we work with who don't quite believe
that God is real.....sometimes kids just need a hug and
sometimes they need to be ministered to.....sometimes we
need to be a "skin & bones" God-substitute for them...... I
hope this makes sense.......without offending the Lord or the readers.

Nancy <><

--from SSTN: I can't imagine anyone being upset with your response.
You've got a great heart!

9) Recall Notice

The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured,
regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and
central component of the heart.

This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units, code named
Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all
subsequent units.

This defect has been technically termed "Sub sequential Internal
Non-Morality", or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it primarily
expressed.

Some other symptoms include:
Loss of direction
Foul vocal emissions
Amnesia of origin
Lack of peace and joy
Selfish or violent behavior
Depression or confusion in the mental component
Fearfulness
Idolatry
Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is
providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct
this SIN defect.  The Repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously
offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these
repairs.  There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is:  P-R-A-Y-E-R.

Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE
procedure.  Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus,
into the heart component.

No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:
Love
Joy
Peace
Patience
Kindness
Goodness
Faithfulness
Gentleness
Self Control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Believers' Instructions
Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING:  Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction
voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and
problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being
permanently impounded.

DANGER:  The human being units not responding to this recall action will
have to be scrapped in the future.  The SIN defect will not be permitted
to enter Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility.

Thank you for your attention!
Your Father,
GOD.

PS:  Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important
recall notice, and you may contact the Father any time by "kneemail".
