1) The Power of Prayer

Someone has said that if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Did you know that during World War II there was an adviser for Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace?

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate: Every evening at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time (8:00 p.m. Central) (7:00 p.m. Mountain) (6:00 p.m. Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, and our citizens; and that our leaders will seek God's will and direction, that we might be a Godly nation. If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along.

Prayers are the only way we can speak to God…our prayers are a powerful asset for our country.

2) Fill My Cup / Amazing Grace Music

Words and chords for Fill Up My Cup and Amazing Grace- Do a Google Search and several come up. Might even find better music but you could probably take the chords and do Ok with it.

3) Forty Days

At the onset of Jesus' ministry, immediately following God's approval of him and coronation as the Messiah, the Spirit of God led him into the desert to be tempted. In these temptations Jesus was tempted in three ways. So what exactly are we to learn from these three temptations?

To get the rest of this lesson, go to "Forty Days" in the
Easter Lessons section at:

4) Forgiveness ideas?

Good day

I teach a grade 5 class and as we started the Lenten season, a season of repentance and forgiveness, last week I would like to do something where I can actively involve the kids. Hurting someone, although not always intentional is easy, saying sorry and forgiving is the difficult part. How do I get the kids to openly apologize, ask for or accept forgiveness. Any ideas would be great.

5) Before You Complain...Think

"There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.

He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.

Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.' "

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.

Life Is a Gift
Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat..
Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion.
Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with bare feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.
