1) High Holy Days: Easter, Passover,  Firstfruits

The events of Holy Week are remembered and rehearsed because they mark the mighty acts of God for our salvation. Palm Sunday, marks Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on what was lamb selection day of the Passover observance. Jewish families would purchase a lamb without blemish four days before the lamb was to be sacrificed. They would care for the lamb and then bring the lamb to the Temple to sacrifice it.

Jesus then celebrates the Seder meal with His disciples and announces that He has just ratified the New Covenant of Jeremiah 31, in which God will write the Torah on their hearts and remember their sins no more, as He gives them the cup saying, “This cup is the New Covenant in my blood, which is shed for you and for many for the remission of sins. Drink this all of you, in remembrance of me.”

2) Learning Disabled Adults Lesson?

I need Sunday School messages/lessons for mixed group of learning disabled adults, ages 28 - 62. All are comfortable in a group. I'm wearing out my brain for how to teach them.

--from SSTN:
Anyone else in the network teaching learning disable adults? Please share your helpful ideas here!
In the meantime, use the search tool at the bottom of the newsletter or from our home page to read ideas that have been sent in by other teachers. And you might try using our children's curriculum to see if that works. You wouldn't necessarily have to use the games or crafts:

3) Sunshine - SONshineBaskets

Ever heard of a Sunshine Basket? My mom used to make them, and my sister and I still do from time to time. We give them to people that are “shut in” from extended illness, hospital stay, new baby, etc. We have also asked our Sunday school class (or small group) or all church people who want to participate, to bring small gifts and enclose a favorite Scripture with that gift, or just a note of encouragement.

Inside a basket or decorated box place a collection of little gifts (as simple as a candy bar, gum, tissues, or maybe note cards). I was asked to create a poem to go with the Sunshine-SONshine Basket. Here’s what I came up with:

Sunshine, SONshine,
What’s in the gifts you say?
One a day
Brings a beam of love
To cheer and to stay.
May it remind you
Every time you doubt
If someone cares or prays
That the SONshine left
From the gift you have
Can warm your heart all day!
BLESS YOU!

4) Easter Drama?

Please, I need an Easter drama for our church to act out. Thank you.

--from SSTN: at this late date, I would suggest having actors pantomime "act out the motions" while a narrator reads from the Scripture. You could also use the Resurrected and Ascended Bible Skit and have your actors read their lines, rather than memorize them.
