Focus: The Gift of Faith and of Giving
Bible Point: Water
is the one thing we cannot live without. You can actually live weeks
without food, but only days without water! Water is the most basic and
important thing for our bodies to have. Jesus said, "Whoever
drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I
give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal
life." John 4:14. Jesus is not referring to real water. Jesus
wants you to know that he is more important than real water! Only
Jesus is able to give eternal life!
When we trust in Jesus and receive the Gift of Faith, we have
Jesus, the Living Water, in our lives and are then able to share him
with thirsty people. When you think about giving, remember that
telling other people about Jesus, The Living Water, is the best gift
you can ever give someone! ("And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."
Matthew 10:42)
Set Up
Establish a large playing area. You'll
need two buckets of water, two ladles, two smaller empty buckets. Put
the ladles into the larger buckets of water and place them at one end
of the playing area. Place the smaller empty buckets at the opposite
end next to the start line. Have players divide into teams and line up
at the start position.
How To Play
At the go, first player on each team races to the larger bucket of
water and fills the ladle with water, then races back to the start to
pour the water into the smaller bucket. Players pass off the ladle to
the next player in their team lines. Play continues in this manner
until the smaller bucket is filled. (You might draw a line on the
inside of the smaller bucket to show when it is full.) The first team
to fill their bucket is the winner.
