1) Cardboard Testimonies

Re. SSTN #50

I saw this idea on You Tube over a year ago, thought it was very effective. I sent it to our pastor, and our church used the idea. It was very good, but could have been so much better with just a few changes:

a. Consider the size of your church. If it is a large sanctuary, make sure all signs are written on WHITE poster board in LARGE BLACK lettering.

b. Write legibly - PRINT - not cursive writing

c. DO NOT RUSH...Have those who are giving testimonies to pause long enough for everyone to read the signs -

d. If you have semi-circular seating. You will need to hold your sign in both directions.

e. If you use a closed circuit camera and projector screen, there is a few second lag time. Again, DO NOT RUSH.

f. If possible, practice and have someone sitting at the back of the sanctuary to make sure the signs can be seen, and to gauge the timing.

I hope these hints will make this type of service more effective for everyone who uses it.

2) God uses people who aren't perfect?

We are having a conference with the topic - God uses people who aren't perfect. Somewhere I've seen a "list" of people that God used. The list listed characteristics rather than names and at the end said that God used all these people to do great things. The list was something like - someone who lied, someone who didn't believe in Him, someone who doubted, etc. Does anyone know where I can find this? Thanks for your help.

3) Is Your Life a Wrestling Match?

Good afternoon everyone!

Question: Do you often feel like life is like a wrestling match?
You've struggled and struggled to solve a problem or reach a cherished goal, yet you never seem to overcome the situation or achieve your heart's desire... Well the good news is, when we come to the limits of our strength and ability...we can call on God! When we've done the best we can do, we need to let go and leave the results up to God. The secret of surrender frees us from a performance mentality. We are not responsible for running the world...God is. All we need to do is our part and trust that God will take it from there. We'll discover that God has the greater idea.

I Thessalonians 5:24 says... The One who called you is completely dependable. If He said it, He'll do it.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

4) Fundraising?

My name is Yolandi Finck and i'm part of a Children's ministry called Reach Our Children. We are based in Pretoria, South Africa. During this past year the Lord has blessed us tremendously with regards to expanding the area which we minister. We had the opportunity to start a children's television show where we broadcasted the message of our Saviour Jesus Christ to children across the country who don't necessarily know God or go to Sunday school. Unfortunately we
found out that - after three months of reaching out to those and showing them Christ - the television contract has expired. We are in desperate need of any sort of help as we really know and believe that this is a media tool that God wants to use to reach our children in South Africa. If it is at all possible to post this mail, we would really appreciate it. Please if you have any ideas on how to implement fundraising for this production can you contact me.

Thank you so very much

May God bless you in everything that you do.
