1) Have You Learned the Secret?

In this economy, when many of God's children are struggling financially, we may wonder if God has forgotten us, or worst, he's against us. As I was thinking about this, I was reminded of these words from Philippians 4:10-13, "I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength."

So, what is the secret of contentment? Connection! Connection to the living Savior. By his power and his strength we can accomplish whatever it is he wants us to do. If we are to find our contentment in him and trust him through lean times and plenty, then there's no other way to learn this than to go through it! We can then use these times of need to show our concern for others--being other centered and not self-centered. 

Take time to praise the Lord with me today, thank him for his faithful pursuit in making us like him! Let us also pray for one another that we might grab hold of this wonderful truth!

2) Running the Race?

Good Night,

I have to speak on a topic at church 'Running the Race' Scripture:- 2 Cor 4:7-11; 6:3-10
Can you give me some ideas...I also need an activity

Help!

--from SSTN: If you haven't already, it would be helpful for you to read the context of those verses to see why the Apostle Paul wrote them. Begin at chapter one and read through to 7:13. I think the key to these verses can be found in 2 Co. 1:9, "...this happened so that we might not rely on ourselves but on God..." (See also posting #1, above)

Ch. 4:7-11 references treasures in jars of clay. (In Bible times, valuable things were hidden inside clay jars, which had little value so as not to attract attention to them or their contents.) To understand this analogy you must back up to ch 3. For believers, God's spirit dwells in our hearts--his glory shines through us--and his law is now written on our hearts--but we are still in temporary bodies--jars of clay. Paul wanted his readers to understand that any power he had was from God. Vs. 8ff explains the result of God's power in his life: hard pressed, but not crushed...struck down but not destroyed. The Holy Spirit receives the credit, not Paul.

Ch. 6:3-10, Paul is concerned that he doesn't do anything to make his fellow-believers stumble in their faith. His faithfulness to God, in spite of his afflictions and hardships, were a result of God's faithfulness to him, making him rich towards God. This allowed Paul to faithfully run the race and not give up.

As to an activity, you didn't say the age group, but you could make small jars of clay (the kind that air-dries). Make and print out small scrolls with the following verse on them, and then place inside the jar when it's dry: "We have this treasure (God's Spirit) in jars of clay (our bodies) to show that this all-surpassing power (to faithfully run the race) is from God and not from us." 2 CO 4:7.

5) Books of the Bible Lessons

I have to teach children ages of 5 years and for the month of November I have to talk about all the book of the bible I have to start with 5 book until I finish all these book from the old and new testament but I would like to receive any suggestion, help, crafts, ideas for these classes thank you.
