1)
In HIM All Things Hold Together

You've got to see this video about "laminin". God thought of EVERYTHING - DUH!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_e4zgJXPpI4
It is 8 minutes - but it goes fast and has the most incredible information you MUST hear!

--from SSTN: this is a MUST-see video! It starts out slow, but reveals an incredible mystery!

2) Lesson Topics

12-30 is a big age span. As the age increases, they should be doing more to determine what they need/want to know. It also depends on what they already know. A group where people know salvation history and are working to grow their faith is very different from one where most people can't find their way in the Bible.

Overall, the question is what should the people know, believe, and do, to live a Christian life.

I would be sure to include material encouraging prayer and the Fruit of the Spirit in their lives.

3) Activities for Senior Sunday School Class?

Hello,

I’m a Sunday school teacher who teaches age group 14-18 years old. Could someone provide guidance as to where I can find biblical activities? My preference would be a tool that helps my student to engage with our weekly lesson.

Thanks,
Nicole Adams-Coggins

--from SSTN:

Hi Nicole, What kinds of "tools" are you looking for? I would suggest looking at our Bookstore page for youth ministries. I have personally selected items for this age group. Follow this link: http://www.sundayschoolnetwork.com/bookstore.html
See specifically "The 24/7 Experience" on the main bookstore page.

I took the music from the 12 days of Christmas and put the 10 commandments used in the lesson book with the hand signs for the lesson to make a song and hand motions to go with it will be performing this at our church this Saturday night. I hope this helps you if you need anymore info you can email me vsroberts41@yahoo.com

6) Daniel and the Lion's Den

Q: I am trying to find a craft to go with the bible story of Daniel and the Lion's Den. ~~Kali in NY

I have the kids make a puppet with 2 paper plates. Cut 1" off the bottom of both plates. Turn them so the insides of plates face each other.

Punch holes around the outside edge of plates (except where the cut off part is). Put a 3" strip of yarn in each hole and tie in a knot. Before class make a triangle for the lions nose. Glue 3 strips of 1/2 construction paper (8-10" long) on two sides of triangle. Kids glue this (glue sticks or glue dots) to the center of plate. Roll strips around a pencil to curl.
Glue on eyes (wiggly or paper). On the other side draw a face for Daniel.

As you tell the story, every time you say Daniel they hold up the Daniel side. when you say lion they hold up the lion side.

7) Joseph Craft

Get paper merchandise or grocery bags donated. Cut a hole for the neck in top of bag, and cut down the front center of the bag. cut out 2 armholes. Glue strips of tissue paper to the bag to make Joseph's coat.
----
cut coat shapes from construction paper or poster board. Spread white glue on coat in 1/2"-1" strips (use foam brushes to spread glue). Sprinkle colored sand (or make your own using salt and crushed chalk or dry tempera paint) on the first strip. Paint another strip of glue and sprinkle on another color, etc.
----
Cut bread into coat shapes. Spread melted butter on bread. Children can sprinkle colored sugar on bread. Toast and use for a snack.

8) Daniel and the Lion's Den

Reference to Item 2, I have words to a really cute song called "The Lions Weren't Hungry Tonight." My sunday school classes love it! I have the cd and can provide additional info if Kali in NY is interested.

9) How to grow Sunday School

> We have very few children in our church and would like ideas on how to attract more.

When our ministry head started going to the pulpit (before the service begins) to invite parents to send their kids to SS, our kids grew in number. You'll be surprised how some parents didn't know we have SS! We also come out with a write up every Sunday at our Church's Chronicle.

God bless, Mara

10) Father's Day Song

>I found a song called "Father Abraham Had Many Sons" and the kids love it!!!!!

This is a very old song, we were singing it over 30 years ago. LOL Kids do love it
