 Lights, Camera, Action Bible Skit:
A Real Cinderella Story based on the

Book of Esther

The book of Esther tells the story of how God protected and cared for the Jewish people during the reign of King Xerxes, around 485 B.C. Esther, a young Jewish girl, rose to prominence to become Queen of Persia. Aided by her cousin Mordecai, God used them to foil a plot conceived by Haman, an evil man who intended to destroy the Jewish people. Ultimately, if Haman had been successful, our Messiah would not have been born, nor would he have died and rose again to rescue his children for eternity! The book of Esther reminds us that God works providentially in our lives using natural circumstances to accomplish his plan.

The feast of Purim celebrates God's rescue of Esther and the Jewish people. Purim occurs during the Hebrew civil calendar month of Adar, during our February or March. Traditionally, children will dress up and act out the story of Esther. When Haman's name is mentioned the children rattle noise makers, known as Groggers, to drown out the sound of his name. Hamantashen pastries are also a special treat served during Purim.

Children's Ministry Skit for Lent

Thank you so much for sharing the great “Observing Lint” skit. We did this skit for our children’s sermon on Sunday and it was a big hit! The congregation was cracking up and the point was well made. Thanks again!
