Thanksgiving Blessing Mix

Bless the LORD O my soul and forget not all his benefits!

Your financial support makes resources like this available! Give now!

One of the deacons who serves on our church's compassion committee dropped by our home to bring my husband, Bob, a "Thanksgiving Blessing Mix" treat and spend some time with him. (As many of you know, Bob has a traumatic brain injury, and as a result of his decline, he rarely attends church anymore.) This was such a kind gesture so I wanted to share it with you. I thought this would be an easy activity for children in our ministries to make and give to shut-ins in our churches or neighborhoods!

You will need small mason jars, 6" round fall print cloth (they cut the cloth with pinking shears), ribbon, "Bugles" Corn Snack, small pretzels, Small dried fruit such as craisins or raisins, candy corn, M&M's, chocolate candy Kisses, and a small card with the following text printed on it:

Thanksgiving Blessing Mix

We are thankful for:
God's call for us to be one of his. (Bugles)
Arms folded in thanks and praise for our Lord above. (Pretzels)
The fruit of the Spirit living in our hearts. (Fruit)
The sacrifices our forefathers made in order to secure a a blessed future. (Candy corn)
Memories & Moments we will always cherish. (M&M's)
The love of family and friends. (Kisses)

And we are especially thankful for you!

"I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with Thanksgiving" Psalm 69:30.

Fill the jars with a mix of the ingredients, place the cloth over the flat disk of the lid, close off with the lid ring, punch a hole in the card and tie off with the ribbon.

If you make one, send pictures! Blessings to all, and Happy Thanksgiving!
